Yosemite: a Vintage DIY Wedding

I think one of the most challenging things as a photographer is to photograph another.  Mike was one of the most talented photographers in my class.  His vision was always inspiring & his technical expertise - ugh, "annoyingly" exceptional!  So when he asked me to photograph his wedding, I was deeply honored (if not slightly scared!).

Margie & Mike met at the Strawberry Music Festival in Yosemite over 8 years ago.  Both their families have been going there for years.  How romantic is it that they tied the knot on the very same spot where they met by the lake!

Themed strawberries, ferns & birds, it was vintage all the way - Margie wore a hundred year old dress & Mike had cuff links from the same era.  Margie did all the flowers  and hand-picked all these vintage table cloths, plates & decor.  Everything truly was a labor of love!  Mike's twin brother designed the invitations & several boards of chalk art, his other brother played during the ceremony, and mom, made the cake from scratch!  I eat a LOT of cake and I must say, it was one of the best ones I've ever had.

I was more than thrilled to photograph this wedding.  Amazing light, great music & extremely fun people!
